Norman Park House
Project Name: Norman Park House
Client: A family
Completed: 2005
Milton Architects transformed a traditional worker's cottage into a contemporary ecologically sustainable house.
What was the project brief for Milton Architects?
Our clients, a young couple, had a goal of living an ecologically sustainable lifestyle in their traditional worker's cottage.
How did Milton Architects answer the brief?
Milton Architect's were inspired by the challenge as there are very few examples of sustainable homes contributing to the existing timber and tin vernacular. The result was an ecologically sustainable house using 70% less water than the average Brisbane home, utilising solar energy for hot water and enhancing the passive heating and cooling principles of the traditional Queenslander.
